This portfolio brings together academic writing developed through inquiry, reflection, and revision. Rather than presenting writing as a final product, the work collected here emphasizes process—how ideas evolve through observation, research, and critical thinking.
Rather than moving directly to final drafts, this course emphasized writing as an cognitive process shaped through sustained practice, reflection, and revision. Each major project developed through a sequence of examples, guided worksheets, exploratory drafts, and feedback-based revisions that allowed ideas to evolve over time. This approach encouraged critical thinking by slowing down the writing process—creating space to test arguments, reconsider structure, and refine voice before committing to polished work.
By engaging with models, exercises, and low-stakes writing early on, each project became less about producing a single finished product and more about understanding how ideas take shape. The examples and worksheets that informed this progression are included within each project’s materials, illustrating how the process itself functioned as a key learning tool rather than a preliminary step to be rushed.
My prior writing experience is rooted in academic work, but my love for writing emerged through spirituality, healing, and reading fictional narratives as a copying mechanism—such as Bodega Dreams; that helped make sense of real-world experiences.
Readers are encouraged to explore the portfolio with attention to both final pieces and the materials that shaped them. Before proceeding to review my work please read the reflection below.

Hands That Heal & Create
In addition to written work, this portfolio includes a photo essay that documents the hands behind creation and labor. Through photography, I explored how creativity and work intersect in everyday life. The images capture moments of focus, care, and dedication, emphasizing how personal identity and ambition are expressed through the work people do. Learn more about Sherlisbeth’s journey below:
